I am pleased endorse Defeat Poverty DC’s campaign
to cut poverty in half by 2022.

I endorse a goal of cutting poverty in the District in half over ten years and ask our elected officials to support policies and programs that will help us achieve this goal. The District must outline and implement a plan to make reducing poverty a priority and set benchmarks that will move our city toward a shared prosperity and a stronger economy. Through proven policy solutions, new ideas and the engagement of all residents of the District, we can cut poverty in half by 2022.

I understand that signing the pledge indicates my agreement with the mission of Defeat Poverty DC to cut the number of people in the District living in poverty in half over the next decade. By signing the pledge, I understand that Defeat Poverty DC may list my name and/or organization on its materials as supporting their campaign to cut poverty in half by 2022; call on me for advice; and will, from time to time, inquire as to whether I am available to contact our city’s leaders, appear at public events, or assist in other ways.
