I endorse a goal of cutting poverty in the District in half over ten years and ask our elected officials to support policies and programs that will help us achieve this goal.
I agree that the District must make reducing poverty a priority and set benchmarks that will move our city toward a shared prosperity and a stronger economy. Through proven policy solutions, new ideas and the engagement of residents from across the District, we can cut poverty in half by 2022.
What am I agreeing to when I sign the pledge?
By becoming one of Defeat Poverty DC’s Partners, you indicate your support for our 10-year campaign to cut poverty in the District in half. You also will be asked, from time-to-time to opt-in to join your peers from across the city in supporting our campaigns to reduce poverty in the District.
Will you use my name for other campaigns without my permission?
No, your name will only be included for campaigns that you agree to support. In addition, Defeat Poverty DC will not share your information with any 3rd parties.
What if I don’t agree with everything you do?
Our campaign allows each individual or organization to opt-in and support specific agendas they agree with. If you do not agree with a certain campaign, you are not obligated to support it.
